About us
The Southern Highlands GP After Hours Service (SHGPAHS) was established in 2001 through a collaboration of local GPs united to deliver after hours care to all residents & visitors within the Southern Highlands.
For over 25 years our GPs have provided our community with access to safe, high quality after-hours services and continuity of care. We play a vital role in ensuring patients can access appropriate healthcare when they need it and help alleviate the demand on our hospital's emergency department.
The after hours service is still staffed and operated by a collaboration of local GPs and their Practices. Look for our poster at your regular GPs office.

On Call Doctor & After Hours Call Service

The After Hours Call Service operates 365 days a year,
Monday to Friday, from 5.30pm to 8.00am the following morning.
Saturdays from 12.00pm until 8.00am
Monday morning,
and
Public Holidays from 8.00am to 8.00am the following morning.
Calls are answered by a professional call service provider who obtains your details and passes on the information to the local on call GP. The local on call GP will then return your call to provide phone triage & advice.
Depending on your illness or injury the on-call GP may:
- Advise you to attend the after-hours clinic, located at 21 St Jude St Bowral
- Provide self-care information &/or advise you to attend your usual GP in regular business hours
- Advise you to attend the Bowral Hospital Emergency Department.
- Advise you to call 000 for an ambulance.
Aged Care Facility visits may be available if clinically indicated & safe for the GP to do so.
After Hours GP Clinic

The GP After Hours Clinic is located at 21 St Jude St Bowral, and is open Saturday afternoons from 3.00pm to 5.00pm
Sundays and Public Holidays, from 9.00am to 12pm and again in the afternoon from 3.00pm until 5.00pm
The Southern Highlands GP After Hours Clinic is a walk-in clinic.
The clinic does not take appointments, patients are seen in the order they arrive, urgent cases will be triaged accordingly after assessment. We guarantee all patients who arrive within the opening times of the clinic will be seen by the GP.
